  • Summer Performances!

Posted on August 9th, 2013 lindenchrist No comments

Summer of 2013 proved to be lovely in many ways! I was a featured soloist in the Music By the Lake performance, Gala of the Stars. I sang “I’ve Told Every Little Star” from Music in the Air with Tim Rebers. Music By The Lake is in William’s Bay, Wisconsin… right next to the resort town Lake Geneva. I’ve sung 5 summers with Music By The Lake and plan to sing many more summers with them. Christine Flasch is the conductor/director and is a tremendously impressive woman, that I highly respect.

Another summer favorite, is performing with Dr. David Vroman and the Peoria Municipal Band. I’ve sung five summer weeks with this band as well. July 31 and August 4th I sang my favorite songs: I Could Have Danced All Night, Think of Me, O mio babbino caro, and You’ll Never Walk Alone. I was so excited to see so many friends and family at the water street venue and at Glen Oak Park. It’s a joy being home and singing in Peoria!

  • Chicago Opera Theater’s Opera For All Program

Posted on April 16th, 2013 lindenchrist No comments

As the Manager of Education and Outreach for COT, we are in our final months of staging our student created operas. We have almost 500 students at 7 different schools/ centers that have been working on their space opera for the entire school year. The students created their own poems for song lyrics, brain-stormed on their script, helped compose musical melodies for their lyrics, designed props, costume and set pieces, and are working on their dances next week with my sister, Devery McCoy. The students performances begin May 15- June 5th.

Check out our FunderHut campaign and give to COT’s Opera For All program so that we can reach & teach even more students about opera!
