La Traviata in William’s Bay

Traviata

Operatic masterpiece La Traviata by the famous Giuseppe Verdi will be performed in William’s Bay, Wisconsin on Saturday July 24th at 7:30 and Sunday, July 25th at 4pm.

I will be singing the chorus for my fourth season with this wonderful company.

At Soldier Field with John

Sunday, July 11th, 2010
I was fortunate enough to start of the Chicago World-Cup Tournament at Soldierfield with the National Anthem. This was in collaboration with the French Bastille Day, I sang for this special day last year as well in Lincoln Park. There were over 5,000 at Soldierfield throughout the day. Mexico won the Chicago World-Cup, but I couldn’t see the games since I had to be in Lake Geneva for a staging rehearsal.
Joshua Smith accompanied me for both the Star Spangled Banner and the French anthem, La Marseilles, as well as Hahn, Faure, and of course Edith Piaf selections!

Peoria Municipal Band

Singing with the Peoria Municipal Band

Come see the Fireworks at Glen Oak Park accompanied by the Peoria Municipal Band playing Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever, conducted by Dr. David Vroman. I will be singing several selections with the band including God Bless America and Till There Was You, Summertime and I’ve Got Music

The Performances are at 7:30pm on Wed. June 30th and Sat. July 3rd.

One the News, ABC Channel 7

I’ve spent the past three years teaching opera at Reilly Elementary School. This year my 4th and 5th grade students performed in Jason and the Golden Fleece. Channel 7, ABC News came to interview me and the students in between performances and even stayed to see the whole show! They loved it as will you!

Goldilocks & the Three Bears at DePaul University

Come to DePaul University’s School of Music, 804 W. Belden Ave. Room 103 to see the short opera, Goldilocks and the Three Bears! My Prelude Choir will be performing in the finale as the Bear’s friends.

Saturday, April 17th @ 1pm (Only 40 minutes)
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Easter Celebration Concert

You are invited to attend Chicago Opera Playhouse’s Easter Celebration concert. A vocal quartet, string quartet, trumpet and piano will be be filling the church with glorious celebratory chorals and selections from Handel’s Messiah & Judas Maccabeus. I’ll be singing the famous “I Know That My Redeemer Liveth”.

Dancing in Chicago

My sister, Devery, teaching 330 Chicago kids how to dance

March 9-12th was an intense work-out week as I accompanied my sister, Devery McCoy, dance choreographer, to five public schools through Chicago Opera Theater’s Opera for All program. Devery taught two different dances at each school for students in grades 4th-7th, for a total of 330 students.

One dance was set to I’m Holding Out for A Hero. This is the finale number of the students opera, Jason and the Golden Fleece which they’ve been preparing the whole year! The other dance number combines the baroque composer, Albinoni’s concerto with Keisha’s Don’t Stop. The students had 40 minutes to learn the entire dance and all did a wonderful job!
